So i ran a PC benchmark with these results
CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 - 94.5% GPU: Nvidia RTX 3070 - 149.8% SSD: 512gb PCS PCIe M.2 SSD 512GB - 120.3% HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB (2018) - 86.2% RAM: Corsair CM4X8GF2400Z16K4 2x8GB - 66.1% My RAM is underperforming by a lot compared to others who have tested and i went to go OC my speeds but was not in my bios. Further looking at it and have seen alot saying i cant OC with the board i have but others saying you can. The board : ASUSTeK PRIME B460 -PLUS If anyone can help with a solution to maybe getting more out of my RAM so it would boost the performance i would appreciate it very much. This is a pre built also |

That's a poor choice of ram on behalf of whoever prebuilt this system - whether it was handpicked parts, or a company pre-picked the parts.
Honestly if you could, I would really seek at upgrading the ram. With a safe overclock if it's possible, you're probably looking at 1.25v-1.30v at most, giving you around, 2666-2800mhz, give or take, even being, you will come across FPS stutter, and just make games unenjoyable. Paired with your CPU and a 3070, it will still be lacking. Black Friday deals are still on, get on Amazon and try seeking some 3200mhz kits if you have the spare money to do so, I just had a quick look on Amazon, and UK prices show a 16gb kit @ 3200 for £53. |

Yeah it was a company pre built i didnt really look into the RAM as at the time GPU shortages were so bad and the price of the PC was the same price as the GPU so just went for it. Unable to pick up any RAM at the moment but will definitely look to upgrade if its a problem as i do suffer some stutter depending on the game but very rare and at high graphical settings, do you think you could name some good brands for me to look out to get instead of me purchasing something that wouldn't be the best for my GPU/CPU. 3200 is what i should be going for? Thanks for providing me with an answer. I have been reading alot that my board is locked for RAM usage so even if it was 3200 it would lock around 2600 but seen alot of people disclaiming that also. I dont want to upgrade the board anytime soon so if RAM would fix the problem to some extent would be great. |

Sorry I was in a rush yesterday I didn't properly look into everything - the motherboard only allows speeds of up to 2933mhz at most, so anything over that speed will just be unused. So, in the case that you want to match performance with your CPU & GPU, it would be a motherboard and ram upgrade unfortunately. You can find some solid Z590 boards at good prices. Bit of a tough one really, I mean the only case you can really do is get some newer ram; 3200mhz-3600mhz and then use it currently while its being underperformed at your boards maximum speed of 2933mhz and then eventually upgrade the board also when you're able to/wish to. As for RAM, Corsair are the best for value I believe, in terms of what you get from them for money, I believe they're hard to beat - whether you want just standard sticks or RGB sticks, they have all of it within a good budget price. In terms of how it would perform overall if you were to upgrade the RAM on your current board, I couldn't tell you exactly, but there should be a decrease of stuttering/laggy FPS issues, but whether it would completely stop it because it's still being 'underpowered', I couldn't tell you. Corsair LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 C18 (PC4-28800) 1.35V Desktop Memory - Black (CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18) - this is on Amazon in the UK for £55.48, its even faster than 3200mhz too which is a bonus - again this would only be beneficial if you had a newer board that supported these speeds. Apologies I overlooked the board and assumed it would support speeds of 3200, but mistakenly not. |

All good! I was thinking it was the boards main downside but i didnt want to believe it hearing some hope from you earlier xD
I will have to take a look at boards etc before i buy the RAM. Thanks again for the great response and time(y) |
