CPU: i5-7600k Cooler: NZXT x62 Kraken Motherboard: MSI Z270 Krait Gaming Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB Black Video Card Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650 W 80+ Gold (220-G3-0650-Y1) Storage: Samsung 2 TB M.2 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 4 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Main Monitor: Asus ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Monitor Case: NZXT S340 Elite ATX Mid Tower Case How much do you want to spend on the upgrade? 1000 British Pounds What is your goal for the upgrade? I'd like to be able to run games at 1440p comfortably at around 80-100 frames on high settings. The system will mainly be used for gaming but sometimes I'll watch Twitch Streams while gaming or do Graphic Design work on the side. |

| I'm not needing much of an upgrade my PC runs amazing still. i cap on CSGO and any FPS or MMORPG i play. i'm going for a new keyboard / mouse in 2021 |

What exactly is your system currently not doing well enough at, that you would like it to do better in?
With GPU stock and pricing being so bad right now, and your RTX 2070 still being kinda fine for 1440p165Hz, I'd be pretty apprehensive about a GPU upgrade at this point. I'd wait for another generation at least tbh. For CPU, your 7600k shouldn't hold you back in games too much. Something like a Ryzen 5 5600(X) and B550 motherboard would be a decent upgrade, but like with GPU's, stock and pricing on CPU's right now is pretty horrendous, unfortunately. |

Cyberpunk 2077 isn't the best example because the optimization of the game isn't amazing but it's dipping into the low 40s for me at times. I'd like to be able to run games In a higher framerate (anywhere between 80-100 frames) and have a comfortable experience. I was looking at getting a Ryzen CPU along with a B550 MB as 3080s/3070s right now are horrible to buy sadly. |

| With the current market for PCs I would hold off until it cools down. Your 1000 will go a much longer way when prices start to normalize. |

As above, now is a pretty poor time to buy. If you can avoid it, I would, and honestly I'd just live with a 7600k+2070 for now.
When Ryzen 5000 and GPU stock/pricing isn't horrendous, then I'd consider an upgrade. I'd probably hold on to the 2070 for another generation at least though, it's still pretty good for 1440p if you settle for slightly reduced settings in some more demanding games. For the CPU, if you can get an R5 5600X at MSRP, then that's not gonna be a bad shout. Alternatively, a cheaper R5 5600 should be available relatively soon anyway and will almost definitely be better value. (Well, available soon after stock of currently available 7nm CPU's and GPUs from AMD actually normalises). You'll get a good B450 motherboard for 100 quid, which would be fine with an R5 5600 or 5600X. A good B550 board can be had for about £150. High end B550 or mid range X570 will be £200ish. |
