Up until an hour before writing this post, the answer was simple:

Step One: don't do any upgrades to my PC's Hardware except get an RTX 3080 or 3090 when it comes out(my pc build is shown in another thread, will give link to it if asked)

Step Two: Get an LG C9(not the CX) because the CX has no HDMI 2.1 support like the LG C9 does.

The plan was relatively simple because you can go to LG's website and it'll show you HDMI 2.1 in the specs for the C9.

...However, LG changed the information for the specs on its website on the C9 and CX and it doesn't even say it has HDMI 2.1 or 2.0 support. Instead, when u go to LG's website and look on the specs of both models, it describes the HDMI input section of the specs for both TVs as:

HDMI input (HDCP 2.2)

so um wtf does that even mean? I googled this question and didn't understand the answer. So my question is, if I got an LG C9 or CX, and I attempted to connect a powerful enough gaming rig to be able to play a PC game at 4k, 120Hz, with HDR, what's gonna happen? What kind of HDMI cable do I even purchase, since the website no longer specifically says hdmi 2.0 or 2.1, etc?

I'm just a little confused here lol.

well i just got off the phone, talking to LG customer support and then talked to another LG rep via tech support chat and they both said that the CX has HDMI 2.1 ports now and that by the end of the year(via firmware update) it'll have both g synch and free synch. It used to be just the C9 that had hdmi 2.1 but apparently both have it now. All i gotta do is wait for the RTX 3080 GPU to be released now.

Juts out of curiosity, what games could you possibly be able to play on a 65"?
