Hi everybody,

I hope someone would be kind enough to look below and tell or advise me if I have missed out any steps in upgrading my SSD. I have already done the memory upgrade.

I have downloaded the recovery media from Lenovo so that I can do a clean install.

Lenovo Legion Y530 - 151CH

1: Disable Intel Optane in Intel App.

2: Remove rear case.

3: Disconnect battery.

4: Remove 16gb Intel Module.

5: Insert new Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB M.2-2280 NVMe PCIe SSD and secure, then attach supplied heatsink.

6: Reconnect battery.

7: Replace rear case.

8: Start up and go into BIOS and change system to boot from USB.

9: Allow the boot sequence to go ahead and install Windows/Lenovo OS directing it towards to SSD.

10: Once installed, go back into BIOS and change boot order to boot from new SSD first.

11: Restart system and if all is working well, go into disk management and format the stock 1TB HDD and rename it something like Data Storage.

12: Re-install all personal files, games, docs etc and hopefully then I am good to go.

So, have I missed anything out or should I do anything different perhaps?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

On a final note, I would rather not clone the OS as I prefer a clean install and I do not have a lot of files anyway and only one game which to be fair I play a lot (maybe too much)

Thanks everybody and hope to hear back soon.

Scotty.
