If it's credit score you're after, then the more you use it and the faster you pay it all back the better.
I've been doing this over the last 4 years and my Experian score is 999 using that method so. Seems to work. |

Credit Cards are a trap always keep that in mind their use is null they pray on people. If this is your 1st credit card and you're trying to build a credit rating use £10 on it and pay it off the next month and just do that over and over after 6 months of doing that apply for a better credit card this one overall is a bad one there are no perks. My parting tips: Download the app for the card and keep an eye on it. Don't spent more than 40% of the total balance ever. Min payments don't clear the balance. Track your credit rating. Don't apply for another credit card for 6 months these do a hard check on you and lower your rating. |

If you are wanting it to help your credit rating then you need to be paying what you have used off quick, if you spend £600 and then you are only paying £50 every month for the next year or so that is not going to improve your credit score. A good way to build it is use the credit card for the likes of filling up your car with diesel or petrol and then pay it off at the end of the month etc |

I work for a credit card company your minimum payment is a percentage of your balance plus any fees , charges or anything additional[if there is any].
For example : Halifax bank their credits cards minimum payment is calculated with this formula. 1% of Your balance plus interest , late charges and overlimit charges. Some banks are different so as stated above call their customer service line or check the paperwork to ensure your not doing something that may put you at a financial detriment |

That's not true , aqua credit card uses the 2.5% of the balance plus the charges for their formula. However majority of reputable credit card companies that require a decent credit score will use the 1% formula as they are already happy with your ability to repay based on your credit score |
