I have decided To Build my first Rig. I guess I wouldn't want to spend more than $2000usd, but I'm not buying all the parts at once so it's not a big issue. I have everything picked out for the most part, besides a mouse and keyboard. The monitor I picked is because I want the 240hz. I will be using it for gaming. Now everything seems compatible but I just want to double check, and get some second opinions before I start buying anything.

I wouldn't bother. $400+ for 1080p is ridiculous. You could spend less money and get a better, higher resolution 144Hz monitor.

Need to agree with 21 here about the monitor. You're spending $1,600 on a new PC and are only aiming for 1080p which seems crazy to me.

You can get 1440p 144Hz (144 is more than enough considering most AAA games you won't even be reaching 240fps unless you are playing on shit settings) for much cheaper ($300)

I'm buying them a couple parts at a time, spending 2k all at once is a bit ridiculous to me.

I was only doing it for the 240hz, I'll end up getting a 144hz. Just seems to make more since

lower your budget then.

What parts were you planning on buying at what time? If you don't have the $2k to spend, lower your budget and then wait until you have the money to buy everything all at once.

Yeah, it will be easier to achieve 144FPS at 1440p than 240FPS at 1080p, and 1440p144Hz is just a more enjoyable experience for a better price. In the $400 range, you could even go for a 3440x1440 ultrawide 100Hz monitor.

wouldn't the ultrawide be a little big? And wouldn't I want atleast 144hz? I'm only asking because I don't know. And if I go the 144hz way wouldn't I want 4K as well?

Things might not go to plan. You might have components sitting unused for longer than you expect, which is just a waste. Prices can also change by the time you finish buying parts so you might end up over-paying. You might buy a part that doesn't work and won't find out for a while until you build the entire system. If you can save $2k for a system in 1 month, just wait a month.

If you want to get it as soon as possible, lower your budget. You'll still be waiting for parts to build the system if you buy it bit by bit, so you'd end up waiting longer.

Even 100Hz is a massive improvement over the 60Hz you're used to on PS4. You definitely don't need "at least 144Hz" but it is a noticeable difference from 100Hz.

Not unless you want to spend almost a grand for a monitor. 4k144Hz is still ludicrously expensive as it is brand new. 1440p144Hz displays are far more easy to find and at reasonable prices.

Sorry it took me so long to respond back, weekends are crazy busy for me. So I will prolly end up waiting the month just to have all the money saved up. And I will be switching to a 144hz monitor. Just a quick question, what would you recommend personally for a monitor? As for the rest of the Build, what do you think?

I'd probably change some things in that build. Which monitor I'd recommend depends on how much you spend on the rest of the system.

All the parts seem to be in order, that's a lot of storage though, I've never used more than 1tb or even came close on a PC, even the rig I'm about to build only has 1tb because I've never gone beyond that lol
