I don't recommend gaming laptops and I don't think there are any priced like that. It's completely the wrong way to get into PC gaming and it will make your experience suck, frankly. Gaming laptops are awful at being gaming machines and awful at being laptops.

What was it? If it was more than a day ago, it needs to be revised!

Not sure which CPU would work for this motherboard so I figured what better place to get an answer

It's an old laptop/computer so I'm not expecting anything that good but I would like an upgrade

What do you think would be my best bet?

If it is a laptop then you really can't upgrade anything except RAM.

See this post. I tried re-working the build, but kept coming back to just about exactly what I had. The only changes I would make are removing the Hyper 212 cooler as you don't really need it and you can add it in later if you want. The CPU linked is NOT the 2500K and is instead the i3-2100 which is better-suited to this build (I just done goofed). Also switch the RAM and hard drive for this:

And this:

Also see this thread for getting the most of that RAM, stock it'll hold you back but tweaked it'll pull you ahead.

Tell me if you need any help with tweaking the RAM, it's not too hard but I could see where you might be uncomfortable. The benefits are pretty significant, though. This RAM is stupidly underpriced.
