-Trophy Names for Major Sports-
MLB: Commissioner's Trophy
Reason for the name/named after: It is awarded to the owner of the winning team by the commissioner of the league.

NFL: Vince Lombardi Trophy
Reason for the name/named after: The trophy is named after former Green Bay Packers' coach Vince Lombardi, who won the first two Super Bowls in 1967 and 1968. The trophy was renamed for Lombardi after his death in 1970. Before that, it was called the World Championship Game Trophy.

NHL: Stanley Cup
Reason for the name/named after: The Stanley Cup was initially bought by Lord Stanley of Preston to be presented to the amateur hockey champion of Canada.

NBA: Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy
Reason for the name/named after: The trophy was created in 1978 and was re-named after former NBA commissioner Larry O'Brien in 1984.
