Well, I just heard Sony are starting to ban consoles with CFW on them.

If you sign in and see that^^ Then you are banned.

You will also receive an Email saying this:
"Important: Access to PlayStationNetwork and Access to Qriocity Services Notice

Access to PlayStationNetwork and access to Qriocity services through your PlayStation3 system has been terminated permanently due to the use of unauthorized circumvention devices and unauthorized or pirated software on your PlayStation3 system.

This use violates the terms of both the System Software License Agreement for the PlayStation3 System and the Terms of Services and User Agreement for PlayStationNetwork/Qriocity and its Community Code of Conduct provisions. In the unlikely event that this termination was in error, contact your local consumer support centre."

Post here if you have been banned and/or received an email off Sony.
I have also read on another forum that it is a console ban. It won't let you sign into any of your accounts and you can't make new ones.

Sony just want you to update because when they drop this useless case on geohot he's probably releasing the key to the city and all those that updated wont be able to use it.

So if I were you I would either reinstall 3.55 OFW then update to 3.56 or just stay offline till all this blows over.

Error Code: 8002a227 - 30 day ban from Sony Playstation Security Department. The last 3digits state the offence in question (227). So you have been banned for Extreme/Racial/Derogatory Language whilst using the PSN.
