There will be a Limited edition for BF3 although not many details have been given.
The Limited Edition includes the DLC pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand.
This DLC pack will give you the following 4 maps:
Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula.
They're all from Battlefield 2.
The Beta:
The Beta will (probably) air on October 12, 2011.
Those who bought the Medal Of Honor Limited Edition or the Tier 1 Edition,
have gotten an invitation for the Battlefield 3 Beta, there will (probably) be no other way to play the Beta.
Playable Factions (not yet confirmed) :
NATO, USMC, MEC and Russians

- Prone is a now a feature (dropshooting will not work)
- Jets will be in the game
- Friendly fire can be enabled
- Knives and dogtags will be back
- Spotting (like in BFBC2) will be back
- There will be 4 classes (like in BFBC2)
- Magnum Ammo will not be in the game.
- No ''Commander Mode'' for PC.
- Bullet drop will be back (it will be different from BFBC2)
- There will be a kill-cam but it can be turned off
- There will be no tracer darts, zip lines and grappling hooks
- More unlocks than BFBC2.
- Original story, not based on Bad Company at all.
- The game will have a heavily scripted single player.
- More than one setting, you're not in the middle east for the whole game.
- A profile system, possibly similar to Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1942, will be present.
- Will support DX11 and DX10 exclusively. (No DX9)
- Will support Windows Vista and 7 exclusively.
- locust9 or David Goldfarb is the lead gameplay designer for BF3.
- Use of 64-bit OS and quad-core CPU recommended.
- No support of Windows Xp.
- PC version will get special attention.
- Ability to drag fallen teammates to safety (not in multiplayer)
- 64 playes online for PC
- 24 players online for consoles
- Smaller maps on consoles
- Vehicle warfare (including sea)
- Destructible buildings
- Full Single Player Campaign
- Co-op Campagin
