old card: Radeon 6850

new card: RX 580

I use this benchmark software [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

CPU is i5 3570K 3.4Ghz (unclocked for the tests)

The 3D tests on the newer card are a LOT better, but the 2D tests the newer card actually performs a little worse. I'm surprised and is this anything to worry about? The card wasn't cheap.

The stat is totally irrelevant. A PassMark admin says:

Modern video cards aren't optimised for 2D. So the high end cards often do not better than the low end cards. The 2D results are also dependant on the CPU and O/S settings.
