I have no clue about the insides of computers so I plan to take it to a nearby pc build shop and have them fit the parts but is it even possible in the first place and can my pc handle it? The reason I'm making these changes is because I want my pc to be able to handle games a bit better and to be able to handle using Adobe After Effects more smoothly.
These are my specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
Installed RAM: 12.0 GB DDR3
System Manufacturer: Acer
System Model: T3710
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 (2GB)
Motherboard Model: Acer Aspire TC-710

Will I be able to take this to the shop and have a 1050 ti/1060 and extra ram installed?

No idea. You could potentially do it, but whether or not you should add a GPU(and which GPU you should add) depends entirely on the PSU you have. It's likely pretty low quality, and if it is, I might not even be comfortable running a 1050Ti without upgrading PSU. You'll also need to find out how much space you have for a GPU, as you might need a low profile card. For RAM, you might have 2 DIMM slots, one with 8GB RAM and the other with 4GB. Or you might have 4 DIMM slots and 1 or 2 unpopulated. So, you might just be able to add another 4GB RAM or you might have to replace the 4GB DIMM with an 8GB one. Honestly though, I'd leave the RAM as is, it's fine. GPU is definitely the limiting factor, and adding an SSD or upgrading CPU would probably be a better idea for improving performance in AE.
