Just built a new PC With a 8600k. Looking to see what the best card would be to be able to run 144hz at 1080p. I was thinking possibly a 1070 But I need opinions. Thanks!

1070 would be the way to go imo, no reason to get the 1080 as you wont be utilising it, and this way you can still use higher graphic settings in games.

The GTX 1070 is considerably more efficient than a GTX 980Ti. The GTX 1070 is a solid card. In fact, the GTX 1080 is often not worth the premium over the 1070 and now the 1070Ti is usually much better value than the 1080 anyway. Also, there is no guarantee of new GPUs coming in September.

OP- the rumours are that next gen NVidia cards should be coming Q3 this year, so somewhere between July and September. This hasn't been confirmed though but it looks promising. I'd perdonally wait.

That said, if you're buying now, the 1070Ti is the best option for 1080p144Hz IMO as its closer ro 1080 performance than 1070, so the 1070Ti is better value than both the 1070 and 1080, unless 1070Ti stock is low.
