Sony are hard headed. not allowing cross play is very anti-consumer they have nothing to lose from it at all. I doubt they will ever allow it.

Epic could potentially force Sony's hand in this. Epic could just enable crossplay without Sony approval resulting in Sony shutting the game down and Sony getting huge backlash from the playerbase. Players will leave the platform or Sony will let them keep it.

Oh for sure I felt at one point Rocket League was the one who would push Sony as they were really getting loud about cross-play at one point but right now Epic has so much power if its ever going to happen its going to be pressure from them I'd say.

The fact Sony is taking stock hits now because of Fortnite cross-play issues speaks to just how much power that game has.
so why do you sony won't do it? I think they are scared of losing even more money in the long run. What are other logical reasons?

They can't lose money from cross-play its a win for Dev's and players there is no real reason whatsoever to block it other than the fact they view the PS4 as having the largest install base so everyone else gains more players on their platform so they gain really nothing.

Is there any evidence to support this? Will be interesting to see if Epic will publish stats about player bases, especially if it comes to light that PS4 player base is dropping as i imagine it might be!
