$250 for that is pretty decent, especially if storage was included. Looks like you've got an i7-2600 and 16GB RAM, that and mobo are worth just under $250 alone, so the case and storage can be re-used so that's basically free. You will absolutely want to replace the PSU. You'll need at least $25 for a new PSU, but $40-55 is going to get you a nice PSU.

Do us a favour. Turn the system on, download Speccy. Run Speccy and take a screenshot so that we can see all of your components.
Then tell us your budget and currency for upgrades.

That way we'll know what you can/should re-use, and what your best option is for upgrades with your budget. We absolutely need a budget to work with and a list of your current components.

Either way, you shouldn't buy a GT 1030 or GTX 1050. GT 1030's are like $100 right now, and GTX 1050's $150. GTX 1050Ti's should be <$150. Buy a used GPU. You can find GTX 960/770's and R9 280(x)'s for ~$100 which is GT 1030 money but GTX 1050Ti performance.

Yeah okay so that's an i5 and not 16GB RAM, I thought the 3 DIMMs was weird, but thought you might have had 2x4GB and 1x8GB, apparently you're running 3x8GB.

Right, so finally, here is what we're looking at;

As well as that piece of junk case. I didn't include the PSU because it's for the bin.

Now you're absolutely going to want a new PSU, especially since you want a GPU, and a GT 1030 just does not make sense. You could get a PSU for as little as $24, a decent unit for $40, or a pretty damn good unit for $50-60, but again, you haven't given us any sort of budget so I still can not recommend anything until you do so.

What I can recommend is buying a used GPU. Low end GPUs just do not make any sense to buy right now, not new anyway. Mid ranged to higher end GPUs are back to reasonable prices but entry level and low end GPUs are ridiculously over-priced, so if you're spending less than $250 on a GPU, buy used.

If you give us a budget, I can recommend a GPU and PSU for you. You might have to re-use that junk case you have but depending on budget, I might be able to add a nicer, new case in for you as well.

Well right now i only have $130 and really won't have any money within the next couple weeks.
But I'm not really trying to spend more than $200 if that's possible

Are you comfortable buying a used GPU? I'll see if I can find you a solid PSU and a good used GPU for about $150. Then maybe in a few weeks you can shell out $25-50 to replace that PoS case with something half decent.

Alright, well buy yourself a PSU from Newegg. You can get a CX450 for $40. Though, I'd recommend the CX450M. It's the same PSU, just semi-modular so cable management is much simpler. The CX450M typically goes for $45-50 but is currently out of stock. I'd recommend grabbing a CX450M for $45-50 from Newegg or Amazon if you can wait for them to come in stock.

After PSU, you should have around $100 for GPU. That should be enough to get you GTX 1050Ti performance.

On the NVidia side, you can look for a GTX 960 as those typically go for $100. GTX 770 is slightly better than the GTX 960 but slightly older, also tend to go around $100 so another solid option. If you see a GTX 680 for a good price under $100, that would also do, as it's literally the exact same GPU as the GTX 770, just slightly older.

On the AMD side, used cards still seem to be over-priced though you can find deals occasionally. You should be looking for an HD7950/R9 280 or HD7970/R9 280x. Again, these are the exact same GPUs, R9 are just newer variants than the HD 7000. 7950/280 will be a tad slower than a 7970/280x, but they'll all perform very similarly(and very similar to a GTX 680/770/960) so any of these for under $100 would be a solid option.
