Because the game is still in pre production as told to us by Todd Howard himself. It also comes after Starfield so it will most likely be a next gen release. And these games take a lot of time so 2 and a half years is really not that much time.

Even though its gonna be a while before the release, I'm just hyped they even announced it to be honest lol Something to look forward too that's for sure. What a way to end the Showcase, killed it !!

Uhmmmmmmm, is anyone else as excited for Elder Scrolls VI as me... like, its been so many years for this announcement. Fallout 76 looked great but it wasn't my main interest in this conference.
