There's been a lot of crap happening to me at my job and I just it think it's flat out ridiculous and here's why. I've been with the same security company for 2 years now. Its my first real job that I stayed with long term. I've trained officers, I've pulled countless hours of overtime, and i have gone above and beyond to establish a good relationship with our client and our company. Within 1 year my company lost their contract with the university I was at (which was a beautiful campus and very welcoming environment). They lost the contract because the security captain assaulted a police officer.

Fast forward to 1 month after we lost that contract I get a call to go work at the campground that I am at now. I started there 4/2017 at the 2nd contract site. Ever since I started there we have gone through 4 site supervisors and countless amounts of security guards. The part where I'm getting screwed over at was that there's 4 times I got passed over for promotions to people that I've trained. They ended becoming supervisors and I got stuck at the lower ranks.

Then there was another incident we had an officer who was a retired truck driver ( 20 YEARS OTR!!!) join our team. I trained him on the gas refueling procedures there because we have our station and we have to document on the gas log. There's 2 pumps, 1 for gas and 1 for diesel. I refueled the vehicles that day and later that evening the new officer went back and put DIESEL in all of our vehicles which ARE GAS POWERED. Needless to say the engines got trashed... he documented on the log after me that he got gas but who do you think got a call from a pissed off supervisor asking "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHY DID YOU DESTROY THE VEHICLES??!" I got put on a 1 week unpaid suspension pending termination for something I DID NOT DO. They finally found out the new guy did so it. Guess what his punishment was??? A warning!! They never apologized or nothing. Now the best part about the story is I've been working 40 sometimes 44 hours (4 hours overtime) every week since I've been with the company. There has not been one week where I did 32 or anything. My boss wanted to argue with me about it, he's hiring 5 new officers when we need 2 and he's going to be cutting my hours from 40 to 32.

Now some of you may think (well it's only 8 hours) well I only make $10.75 an hour, which is about $338 a week on 40 hours. Any lower and I could be looking at $260~ . I got offered a 2nd part time job at the campground working the recreational center which is where the kids go to play games and do putt putt etc. I did all of the paperwork and finally got put on payroll to start tomorrow working 6am-10pm Friday's and Saturday's. My security company called and said that I cannot take the job there because of a "conflict of interest." There has been guys on my team working for the campground in the past and nothing was said to them but all of a sudden it's enforced on me... I'm screwed out of a 2nd job because of them.

I feel like I'm just getting **** over in every turn and all this stress is starting to take its toll on me.

If you read this I appreciate the time I just wanted somewhere to rant because if I rant at work I'll have 0 jobs.

Thank you for this great post my friend. I do think it's BS that they got promoted higher than you when you trained them yourself, sometimes in jobs they pick favorites and it's not fair but it happens sometimes my dude, it's happened to me in the past with jobs. I think you deserve to be promoted as well and not them, I would say maybe it's time to move on and if it happens again just find a new job. I'm not saying quit just like that make sure you apply for another job and get a job then quit. I hope all the best on your job! Hopefully you do get promoted cause it looks like you deserve it.

$10.75 an hour really isn't much to be handling all the bullshit the company has been putting you through. I'd really begin searching for another job (don't quit your current job until you have a 100% sure offer from another company) and hopefully, you'll find a job that has better treatment.

Tell that boss off man. You need a to be on their executive team as you have earned it. Lay all the problems you see on the line. Do this, but have a second job lined up in case you lose this one.

Sounds to me like you are taking bullshit from people and you dont deserve that.

What company do you work for? Cause I'm in the same line of work and that is some serious BS man.

I've only been with mine for about 8 months and have already got picked up twice making 15 an hour for a stupidly easy job.

Mostly yelling at kids like they are privates. (Funs times really.)

I'd lay everything you just laid out for us.....to your boss. And afterwards, leave. He / She will either realize he's losing someone good and call you, or he will see how crappy his newly trained employees will be since you're not there

I can't disclose the name of the company but it's one of the largest security firms in the us.
