If jailbroken then install version 3.40. Then you will have to add 3.50 then back to 3.55 jailbroken cfw

I tried 3.40 ofw its says data is corrupted.....

Okay put your old hard drive into your computer and format it, then put it back into your Ps3 and try again.
It will work, then put your new one and update it again.
