If the game is digital it should appear. Have you tried checking the hidden games & apps list or go on his account and see if it shows there?

This has happened to me before.
Basically just search for the game via the Microsoft store and you should be able to download it.
I'm not sure why this happens, sometimes you can hide games and apps and he may have done that. Who knows.

I searched it in the store and it appears as though I need to buy it again and I'm not running the risk of actually purchasing it when I shouldn't have to.

Where is the hidden games and apps list? I have no idea how to find that.

Well, the only answer I could think of is he doesn't actually own these games digitally.
Or do you have your storage device still selected?
Make sure you have it set to "all storage", its up at the top of your games and apps.

My problem with that video is that on my console, in the Games section, it doesn't show anything that says which storage I'm looking at.
