Mooned wrote The thing is, I didn't ask any stupid question. I asked something that someone who knows nothing about computers would ask. Thanks for the help, bud.

You literally asked an unanswerable question. No one here knows your financial situation, we don't know your budget. Nor do we know your currency. We have no idea what you'll be using the SSD for, how much storage you typically require, etc. There's plenty of variables. For one person, 500GB could be the minimum SSD they'll accept, whereas some people will run ONLY a 120GB SSD.

As I said, "How long is a piece of string?", it depends.

"How much space is needed on an SSD?", it depends.

All I asked was how much space is needed for just an OS and a few other things. I didn't ask for links to a specific SSD. I said I was getting a HDD already that has about 1-2TB to spare.

That could be the entire discography of Elvis Presley and all 15 seasons of NCIS for all we know. Or it could be 3 text files. For "just an OS", 60GB is plenty.
