Probably because I have this expectation that the next COD is going to be better than the previous pile of shit. Let down every time lmao

After BO4 I won't buy another COD game that's for sure

I buy games based on the popularity of that said game or community, I enjoy making new adventures and if a game catches my eye that I know I'll enjoy, I'll simply buy it because I'm going to play it.

I don't really buy games for the "Name" but for Xbox 360 I bought all cod's and said games for simply the collection, this has also grown into Xbox one collection too as I've now bought the new COD and will buy rest of them, (Probably) but that's simply for the collection and playing them with friends from time to time.

So pretty much, what and why you buy certain games?

Is it for the nostalgia? like games under the same name, in hopes its gonna be better?
(ex: Call of duty mw4 will feel like mw2)

Is it because of the hype around the release? Like how monster hunter had great success around its release.

Is it hope that the next release will be better next year? Kind of how CoD:WW2 had high expectations but a majority of the community didn't agree.

Is it because most of your friends play and recommended it to you?

I think it's mainly because I enjoy a certain game genre, like I loved playing Call of Duty 4, then WAW then MW2 but I've never enjoyed the next one's in the genre asmuch but still bought them all.. also I would say when all my friends have a game I will eventually buy it to play with them such as the Forza games. One more point would be the huge hype over certain games such as Fortnite on Xbox because so many people play it.

I buy games for all those reasons you mentioned.


If I have a group of friends that all have this one game and keep saying it's awesome I should get it I will most likely get it.

Certainly the nostalgia does it for me too. One of the main reasons I bought mwr what a letdown that was.
