what do i need to do in order to get to 4.82 rebug dex from 3.55 ofw?

You will need some patience, a computer, and a FAT32 formatted flash drive.
You need to download the latest release of the rebug cfw from here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
It will download a .PUP file. Rename that file to to PS3UPDAT.PUP and put it onto your FAT32 formatted flash drive in PS3/UPDATE
Insert the Flash drive into your PS3 and go to System Update and Update via Storage Media (make sure there's NO disk in the drive) (I would also encourage you to disconnect from the internet)

Quite a few ways
1,Download and install Rebug 3.55 then set the QA flag and update to 4.81 switch to DEX in the toolbox.
2,Download and install Rebug 3.55 update to Rebug 4.82, in the toolbox enable the QA flag, then install 4.81 convert to DEX in the toolbox.
Remove any disc's in the ps3 during the update.

You can only switch to DEX to whilst on any Rebug CEX, you can't install DEX on a CEX or vise versa.

pretty easy once your at 3.55 you put a usb in with the CFW you want and install it!

This, just make sure you get the correct update you're wanting from ReBug.me or you're going to need to e3Flash you're console back down to 3.55 if you're not happy with the CFW Update, but spot on this. (there is no way to downgrade you're console back to 3.55 with an USB, only e3).
