Simply not happening. The monitor you're requesting is at least $350. On top of that, a 1080Ti will currently set you back at least $1300. Add $200-250 to watercool the GPU. There weren't any 1080Ti's with AIO's in stock but I've just noticed EVGA's FTW3 Hybrid is in stock for $1300 currently, which is obviously still a ridiculous price considering you can buy a Titan Xp for $1200. You're not going to build a system around the monitor you want and a 1080Ti for the $450 remaining of your $2000 budget.

With your requests, this is kind of the best you can do;

Monitor: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ($363.95 @ Adorama)
Total: $2489.37

You could save $75 or so if you went with an R5 1600 instead of an i5, though if you're going to go Ryzen, I'd probably try to wait for Ryzen at this point. You're going to want to wait for 1080Ti's to be back under $800 anyway though(IF it happens), so that might not be a bad option. You should be able to get this around $2k if you can get a 1080Ti for <$800($800-850 is a reasonable price for the FTW3 Hybrid, $750ish for an air cooled 1080Ti). You could definitely get it under $2k if you get a 1080Ti at a reasonable price and go with an R5 2600(2nd gen Ryzen) instead of the i5.

Lastly, here are some alternative monitors since a red monitor can be pretty unappealing;

The $400 monitors are TN, the $450 one is IPS. I'd go for the $450 Nixeus monitor because I can't stand TN panels, but it's up to you. The red Acer monitor is also TN, but it's almost $100 less than the IPS Nixeus monitor, so it's almost worth it at that point- I'd still personally just spend the extra for IPS though.

Thanks 13 always helping out. Yeah I mostly use the forum for pc builds so I build and resell. Would it be worth getting an i7 or no? what would be the weakest link in this build, if any? also would it be worth expanding the build to 3k overall? this pc I want to keep so I will be willing to spend a little more

I wouldn't say an i7-8700k is really worth it. Especially not for a gaming system. Your really not going to notice much difference between even an i5-8400 and an 8700k in the vast majority of games. 8700k's are still just too over-priced to justify IMO, unless you're going to do a decent bit of editing/rendering, etc.

I wouldn't say there is a "weakest link". I'd definitely aim for a larger SSD, a 500GB 850 EVO to be exact but obviously with GPU and RAM pricing, we're already way over your $2k budget so I stuck a decent 250GB SSD in to try keep cost down. I'd also spend a bit more on CPU cooler, but it's totally not necessary, I just like having higher end coolers. I wouldn't say spend $3k. Wait for GPUs to come back down to reasonable prices, up the SSD to a 500GB 850 EVO, and maybe swap to one of the nicer looking monitors if you want, shouldn't be anymore than $2250.
