If the dumper doesnt turn off automatically, turn it off manually and move on to the ps3 write then install ferrox 4.82
I've done it to 6 ps3's in the past few days works perfectly 0 problems
Just make sure your console is 100% compatible and you use the correct files

Your console has to be on a certain update like from 2010, you will haft to get a downgrade stick or find one on ebay or here.

If he has a phat or slim he can just download the version check to see how far he can downgrade, I would check everything or have someone experienced check before I spend money to do it
