i have the I7 4790k and it has all the same pins as my gaming M3 msi z170a morherbored but a little placstic thing is stopping it from fitting in all the way what do i do??

Is it a black plastic thing? or the metal thing or w/e it is that is stopping it?

i looked it up and ig this motherbored is not compadible with the i7 4790k really sucks im gonna try and send the mother bored back.

idk what i should do, any of the motherboreds i want are not in stock or not avilible, im going with a red theme, ig im just gonna keep this mothet bored, and get a new cpu and new ram, i got a msi radeon 390x video card and everything els, i am a noob at pcs kinda i did not realize my cpu wont fit new motherbords.

7600k is a downgrade from the 4790k. Also RAM is super expensive right now. Keep the CPU and RAM, and just buy a Z97 motherboard. You'll be able to find one used, no problem. Check out places like /r/hardwareswap
