LOL Who ever said that is either jealous or kind of "Duuhhhh"

Digitally games run the exact same as disk games.

The only difference is with digital games you can cross play them on PC and you don't have to worry about damaging them.
Disk games you will not be able to cross play with them on the PC but you will save a lot of space on your HDD.

My personal favorite is disk even though it bites me in the ass because I do have a Gaming PC. I just have to buy the game twice which I like going through Steam for most of my PC Games anyways.

But don't worry. Digital vs Disk theirs no difference in performance. Tell that dude to piss off. ;)

Whoever told you that has no idea what they're talking about.

Physical games are always installed to your hard drive. Every time you boot up a game your Xbox is reading files off the hard drive, not your game disk. The disk itself only serves as a sort of "physical license". It needs to be in your console so it knows you still have ownership of the game, that's it.

So no, there are no performance differences between digital and physical games -- because they both run off your hard drive.

Edit: I assume you meant for console, but PC acts the exact same way. Disks are installed to your hard drive and are only used to acquire the initial game license which is then tied to either Steam, Origin or Uplay.
