I have actually read an article on this, in some cases creatine has caused what is called a Mono Rash.

You're talking about Creatine Monohydrate rash. A mono rash is caused by Mononucleosis or known as the kissing disease. If it is a Creatine Monohydrate rash, it would be itchy annoying rash along with red bumps found usually over your body. Most people that are affected like this turn out to be allergic to creatine or find out to be something different causing this.

Creatine supplement use sometimes triggers allergic reactions that affect your skin, such as itching and rashes. Sometimes, this creatine causes hives. This allergic reaction is characterized by raised, red and itchy welts appearing across the surface of your skin.

Yeah dude I was just going off of this, because he said it was straight after he had used it I assumed it could be the beginning stages of it. Most likely isn't but its typically the only case in which you would experience red skin after the use of Creatine.

That would be true if he wasn't working out. Creatine regenerates a molecule that focuses on energy. It's most likely that his workout was pushed a little more than usual. His hands would turn red from swelling due to blood being directed other places than his hands. It's fairly common and usually happens to me after a long distance run. If his hands or body doesn't itch, he should be fine.
