This is actual footage of the damage Hurricane Irma, who's eye passed directly over St. Marteen, has caused. It went from winds of 185 MPH to calm winds in 6 minutes, SIX MINUTES.

It's barreling its way now to where I live, Puerto Rico and the rest of the Caribbean islands and it is expected to eventually reach Florida.

I'll see you all on the other side! Signal strength is going to be extremely weak as the hurricane passes and battery life will go out eventually. Take care everyone and wish us the best!

Wow 6 minutes that's insane

That's video on twitter is crazy as ****!!!
Hope you stay safe

Most people are considering this a Cat6 hurricane. even though there is no such thing at the moment. it started near the northwest of africa, nobody thought anything of it because hurricanes are supposed to slow down as they move. this one on the other hand, picked up speed. we technically have no idea where it will strike. The hurricane is supposed to be able to destroy a whole city. I live in Pennsylvania so the most we will get is some minor flooding and a lot of rain. I hope you stay safe

Who names these Hurricanes?
On topic, it's a shame that Florida got hit bad and now the Caribbean is getting hit hard 150mph winds as I speak.

Hi guys, checking on TTG and with some updates. Irma has moved a bit more north but Puerto Rico will still be affected by heavy winds and rain throughout the night. The eye of the hurricane is set to be about 40 miles away from the capital, San Juan, at around 8 PM with the hurricane winds having a 50+ mile range and the tropical storm winds having a 60+ mile range.

Here are some pictures of the early damage it's caused in Puerto Rico:

These were just the afternoon winds that Irma brought to the island, we still have to go through the night and see what the damage is the next morning...

Sadly, our Caribbean brothers in Barbados and Antigua have been hit HEAVILY by Hurricane Irma since the eye of the hurricane went directly through them, they weren't even visible by satellite for around 14 hours and there was no contact from the islands within those 14 hours.

Barbados has suffered 90% infrastructure loss and has 1 confirmed fatality, up to now. Hopefully there will be no more fatalities. There have been reports of 1,000+ deaths but those are fake reports, there has only been one confirmed death by the Prime Minister.

It's a strict procedure and IIRC the WMO picks names to use in a 6 year time span.
