First off hi all,

I have decided that I want to have a go at building my first system but, as I have some technical knowledge but not a vast amount, I want to start off on a general build rather than a high end gaming pc.

For this I want to look at about £400 for the system built around an Intel pentium g4560 chip not including monitor etc. So it's going to be a tight budget but definitely doable.

The advice I'm after really if possible from you fine ladies and gents is really what can and what can't be done. What you can go budget or second hand on comfortably and what you really need to spend the money on.

Also if anyone has any specific advce on components that are good but we'll priced it's always appreciated.

I would like to build in some upgrade capacity so I can put in more ram or a better graphics card in the future but for now I'm after something to get me started and probe to myself I can do it, and maybe play a few games on when it's done.

Thanks in advance for your help, but please don't reply to tell me I really need to spend more money. I know that ideally I should but I simply can't!
