Hi!

To start, I have limited PC component build knowledge and have had desktops in the past but have been living off of my laptop for a few years now. I recently moved and decided it was time to get a desktop. My IT friend at work built me a custom work PC that absolutely rips (unfortunately this is way outside of my budget for my personal PC) - but this convinced me to ditch the Dells and look for something more customized.

I'm currently trying to take advantage of some of the July 4th PC sales and need some advice. Unfortunately due to time, general skills/knowledge I would prefer to purchase a pre-built and not build my own. I know that I will get flamed for this, but this is really the route I would prefer to go.

I just need some advice on some of the components I have selected, not sure if they are all necessary and/or if some of them need to be swapped for higher end parts. The PC is currently coming in at about $1,850 and I would prefer to get it down to about $1,500 if at all possible.

Some general background - I'm going to be using this mostly for work/non-processing power intensive items, however I would like to be able to game as well without any issues. I also need it to be able to effectively run a predator x34.

Are there any corners I can cut here and still achieve my goals? The most obvious to me would be the GPU and CPU, but from what I've read a 1080 is recommended to game on the x34 and I'm just not sure about the capabilities of the i5.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially if you see any compatibility issues that I may have missed as well as pointing out any sub-par/overkill components for my needs.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: My only other alternative if I have to build it would be try and muddle my way through something like this:

Not sure how that system would compare to this one though?

It is a waste of money for prebuilts either way and you will likely have issues arise at some later point.
Neither of those are really the greatest of mixes, 120gb SSD, and 1 tb HDD? The first one also looks like a founders card as well. The second one doesn't mix well either, why add optane?

I am not going to pick which system is "better" most people who will comment will say the same thing and that is, you're much better off building a system then you are buying a prebuilt.
