So my dad is about 67 now, has been smoking for 40+ years. I need him to quit, it would help him so much. I tried everything, I make fun of him I tease him and send him health articles on how much it can help. Can somebody please let me know sometype of way to just END it. I don't care if he has withdrawals, because I know that's saving his life. He smokes about 10 cigs a day now as he's getting older. I'd appreciate anything! Thank you

Have you ever thought about getting him a vape? The intention of those things is to actually help smokers who are trying to quit.

A customer walked in the other day asking for a charger for his vape and he said that his vape was one of the best things he's bought. He would spend money on a pack per day, he told me he knew how to spend about $500 a month on cigarettes.

Let me be honest, I mean absolutely no offence.... After having been a smoker for 40 years, at the age of 67 the damage is done. Getting him to quit now honestly will do next to nothing to prolong his lifespan...

I honestly will try that, right now.

Yes it will, it's never too late to quit. His breathing will get better and he will have more energy, trust me I've read alooooottttt about what happens when you quit smoking and if it's too late.

Maybe it has nothing to do with expanding his lifespan. Stopping an addiction such as smoking brings benefits of all kinds, not just health benefits.

I know, but since the OP mentioned "I don't care if he has withdrawels, I will be saving his life" I assumed it wasn't necessarily a monetary issue etc

Only way to stop smoking is to want to stop.

even if he quit 20 years ago he would still be in the likely hood of smoking related illnesses

the average age is 72-73 he's done well for a smoker.

let him do what he wants damage is done

My friends dad smoked for about 40 years too and when he stopped he had 2 massive heart attacks, apparently his body wasn't used to not having the nicotine or something crazy. Hopefully that isn't the case for your dad, mine had one of those electric cigarette things and it helped him to limit the amount and just kept cutting the amount of times he'd smoke.

They do help an awful lot. He started smoking again though lol, but it DID help loads l
