Assuming you don't need a nice 4k monitor keyboard mouse and headset.

PCPartPicker part list: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Price breakdown by merchant: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

CPU: Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($327.89 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: Deepcool - CAPTAIN 120EX WHITE 76.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($79.99 @ B&H)
Motherboard: MSI - Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($121.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($123.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: SanDisk - SSD PLUS 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($139.39 @ OutletPC)

With some money to save, if you want me to use the whole budget I can upgrade somethings, but im assuming that that was the max amount of money that you wanted to spend.

Give us a currency.

What DAW will you use?
Aesthetics?
Will you be overclocking?
What do you need? (monitor, keyboard, mouse, ETC)
If you don't need a monitor tell us what you use.

The currency is USD $ as indicated by the "$" sign in front of the budget

Gigabyte is an alright brand. In terms of GPU's they make fairly good ones. They use the same GPU as the rest of the 1080's though so performance would be the same.

In terms of MSI and motherboards, my last 4 motherboards have all been from MSI and i've only had an issue with 1 which was my fault. I turned up a set of speakers that I had rigged to the mobo audio and it blew the onboard audio. Send it back to MSI and they gave me a new one so was all good.

Actually, the Gigabyte one has the higher clock speed of the 2, but if you want the highest clock speed on PCPP, [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] currently has the highest base clock

I like the 1440p monitor that I have running at 144hz with g-sync it's so much cheaper to get in 1440p rather than 4k and you will regret not getting 144hz rather than 60hz there's an actual noticeable difference.
