So I just spilled milk on my MacBook Pro 13 inch it's the newest version

I immediately turned it off and wiped it down with a paper towel and flipped it upside down.

Is there anything else I should do and does anyone have anything else to say or advice?

I see your mistake.. spending 1k on an overpriced shitbook!

Seriously though, best bet is putting it in rice and letting it chill for about a day.
I doubt any harm was done since you did not directly spill it on the motherboard lol

Things aren't looking too good. My computer is going haywire. I'm just leaving it off and upside down for a while and am going to bring it to the geeksquad eventually. I'm guessing that I will have to buy and entirely new PC.

hairdryer is the worst idea considering it blows the milk farther into the electronic at any entrance

best idea is too make sure all milk visible is clean then rice it for at least 1-3 days all depending how patient and how bad you want it to work again after that

I was in the same boat as yourself a couple of weeks ago, I spilled coffee on my 13" Macbook Pro whilst I was at work. Luckily I was the culprit, so I powered off my machine straight away to prevent any further damage.

Here's what I did to get my Macbook Pro working;

1 - Powered the machine off straight away to prevent any further damage.

2 - Got a couple of paper towels to get the remaining coffee off the laptop.

3 - Due to spilling coffee on the left side of the keyboard, I opened the lit and stood the Macbook up on it's side to let all of the coffee drip out.

4 - I spilt the coffee about 10AM, and left my Macbook untouched until I retuned back to work the next day.

Low and behold, it worked.

Depending on how much Milk you spilt, depends on the amount of time I would leave it.

Hope any of this helps & hope your new Macbook isn't scraped.

First off, the "rice trick" is BS and hence void. Louis Rossman thoroughly explains this: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Louis Rossman is an extremely knowledgeable component level repair technician, and he does youtube commentaries on some of the jobs he takes.

Second, there is no reason to just "give up" and get another computer! I have the newest 2016 MacBook Pro 15" w/touch bar. It's a $2,500 machine. If I spilt water on it or any other kind of fluid, I'd first check if 1. I purchased a full warranty, and 2.) If I have one, use it!

If not, Apple is going to charge you an arm and a leg for water damage repair, likely in excess of $600. If this is too much, I'd suggest seeking out a 3rd party technician. Just ensure they are Apple Certified.
