OhG wrote Wait a minute, what does having an infant in the car have to do with having tinted windows?

White babies have fair skin so they sun burn easily, keeps sun out of their eyes, etc. That's why sometimes you see the little shade in the window.

002 wrote I have 35% on my back windows and 25% or 30% on the canopy rear window (bought it off Craigslist, forgot what they guy said). The back windows alone are fine, but the canopy is WAY too dark for my liking. Add my auto dimming rear mirror and it is terrible. My truck is fairly long so it may be different but you cannot back my truck up with just the rear view or looking back. I can only use the side mirrors.

What is the goal with the tint? I did a mirror tint on my old canopy so there was tons of light coming in and it was easy to see with but very hard to see into. It wasn't like having mirrors as windows either as I didn't like that look, it was just a shinier window. Below are a couple pics of my windows on both trucks.

Front windows no tint, rear cab windows and canopy side windows 35% tint, canopy rear window 25% or 30% tint:

Working on getting other pics, phone doesn't want to upload right now though. I'll edit when I get them to upload! I'll also take some at night to get you an idea.

EDIT: Here's the other pics. The one looking back looks easy to see out of but it's not lol. Hopefully it'll look more like it actually does at night, right now it's an average cloudy day out BTW.

EDIT 2: This is with my spot lights on, without them you can't see anything. You can see the spot lights I have on the bumper in the first pic I posted in this reply.

Thanks Brother. Always good information from you. I'm going to probably get 35% on the side and 40 or 45% on the back windshield. Set an appointment for this Saturday

First, I would check your local laws of what is allowed. I personally would recommend 20%-35% as it is dark enough to have to be close to see in the 20%. 35% is somewhat dark, but you can see through it. In the state of North Carolina (where I live) 35% is the legal limit. The lower the percentage, the darker the tint. Hope this helps!

You should either get 20% or 15%.

I got 15% on my car!

I have 30% on my car the guy said that was the lowest i could go before it became illegal. I like it because it puts a nice look to the car but it don't totally black it out.

Let me give you some advice with tints

Id recommend going with 15% if your looking for it to be dark. Your police car probably has 5% or 10% and the chances of you actually getting a fine is low. Especially since your a police officer.

Now to get the tint done you will have to find yourself a locally owned store or one that is willing to tint your car windows for "offroad use only". Most corporate car audio and window tint places won't tint your windows past what is legal but there are plenty of local shops that will

I have 15% all the way around and even on gloomy days people can still semi see me. At night it really isnt that bad at all to be honest. I would recommend 20% on the back windows. Getting a fine in most states is for the 2 front windows and windshield. They do not care about the back ones. Good luck

I've had multiple cars tinted before and I found 35% is what I like. Not too dark but you can notice it. I have this on all 5 windows. Also thing I ran into is when its raining and its dark out I have problems backing out of my driveway so I put my window down a little to see where I'm at
