So my current mobo is pretty bad from what ive read and heard from friends, and I want to upgrade my cpu. Im thinking of getting an i7 7700k whithin the next 6 weeks but dont know what mobo to get.

So basically what I need from this thread, is either mobo/cpu&cooling recommendations. OR the best possible cpu&cooling for my current mobo.

Need to know what CPU, Motherboard, cooler and case you have for compatibility. Also need a budget for upgrades.

if more info is needed or not clear, let me know.

R7 1700 as a placeholder for the R5 1600. R5 1600 should release on April 11, should perform similar to current gen i5's in gaming and similar to, or better than i7's in multi threaded workloads.

Alternatively, if you'd prefer Intel;

You could get a 6700k for an extra $100. Really not much reason to get Kaby Lake over Skylake since they'll perform pretty much identically, with Kaby Lake running hotter. Included cooler with the R5 1600 will be half decent, but if you go Intel, you need to buy an aftermarket cooler.

Honestly though, depending on what you're looking for from an upgrade, you could probably just get a Sandy/Ivy Bridge i7 and be fine.
