Hello everyone! I'm hoping someone can help me on the below. And that I also have this in the right Forum.

So I purchased the Elgato HD60 about a month. The thing works flawlessly! I love it, it captures great quality gameplay for my YouTube channel. However lately everyonce in awhile in my recordings, I'm experiencing screen tearing, choppiness (only sometimes) and a bit of lag where the audio ends up playing ahead of my footage that I record. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen every other video. I'm trying to figure what the issue is.

My PC Specs are perfect and I know that is not the issue, I have a beautiful gaming setup.

I'm thinking it could be two things.
One-The set up I have in the Elgato settings right before recording
or
Two-The editing software I'm using. I've been using Wondershare Filmora I purchased mainly because I can't afford Sony Vegas for $600.

Please if someone can help me, I would appreciate it so much! Let me know if there's anything I can answer here to help resolve this!

Thanks so much guys!

I have the same Elgato Capture card but everything seems to be working fine for me. I believe I had this in the past though so ill just go over my settings that may help your problem. These options may not help you in the end but it was just what helped me so maybe just give it a try.

Flashback & Stream Command:

if you happen to never look back at your video in the Elgato software or use the stream commands then I would just uncheck these since it causes some lag and may end up messing up your video. I found a small improvement when unchecking them.

Input Device:
Probably not the problem unless you're a door knob but check if your input device is actually your Playstation 4 with the audio being HDMI audio. If you have your analog audio as your audio then you have a big no no. Also try having your quality setting to what your pc can handle.

File Export:
Some may not notice this but its needed if you actually edit your videos in Sony Vegas or other softwares. Yes elgato does have sound delay occasionally so the best thing to do is separate these files after every recording so you can sync them in the software. Usually every youtube will start out a video with the 1,2,3 trick so they can sync in later for the editing.

Video Codec
This probably isnt the problem but I would check it out anyways, For the codec I would use the most powerful component you have other than the "software (Build-in). But you really dont need to worry about this that much.

Update:
Probably wont be this if you have the automatic update checked but I would take a look to see if your software needs a quick update. If you dont have the automatic update check then I would start having it checked.

Reinstalling:
If none of these options really help then I would just take the 10 minutes to reinstall the software because from hearing what you said that it was all working for awhile until it stop is probably meaning something happened with the software. After reinstalling you may need to fix the settings but it doesnt take that long.

Sometimes I have the same issue, usually after a long play/recording session. I've started to use smaller hour / 2 hour recordings

The elgato seems to have problems on long recording sessions. I would try to limit it to an hour of recording. Then restarting it!
