Just went and brought a 144Hz panel today as a silly impulsive buy. Love it. Many thanks.
So, ive got a 27' 1440p monitor at the moment, with a 24" 1080 next to it, im looking to upgrade to something diffrent, but im not sure on what.
Im not a massive fan of the 1440p display, text doesnt look too crisp on it since its small and any form of windows scalling looks horrible, theres also no VESA mount on the back of it, so im stuck with one monitor on a stand and the other on a shoe box lmao
I've been looking at getting a 24" 1080 144Hz monitor to replace my 27, then have them both on a arm to look cleaner, i also play a lot of shooters, so i'll notice the 144Hz a fair bit and the smaller size isnt an issue, i might even be nicer.
A 1440p 144Hz monitor also isn't an option, i cant afford one, have also tried to OC my monitor as someone previously suggested but couldn't even get it to 70Hz.
Has anyone used both 1080 144 and 1440 60? what would they prefer?

Its being used for gaming, shooters, RPG's, osu! etc, also Netflix, Amazon etc, one of the other issues with the 1440p is that Neflix and Amazon Prime look crappy on it, since either service doesn't appear to let me stream 4K, only 1080, which obviously doesn't look as great.

QNIX QX2710 would be what I'd get. It's 1440p at 27" but you're going to be able to OC it to like 96-120Hz pretty easily and it has VESA compatibility. Otherwise, I'd go ultrawide.

A couple people suggested those on a previous thread. However they don't too be to easy to get hold of in the UK. I've only been able to find a couple on eBay fom Korea

Yeah they're not a great choice in the UK. I'd probably get an ultrawide monitor then.

Yeah they're not a great choice in the UK. I'd probably get an ultrawide monitor then.
Ive looked at a few ultrawides, but i feel like it'll annoy me with films and such not fitting the screen correctly, i spend a fair amount of time watching netflix, amazon & youtube??

Majority of films look better on my ultrawide than my 1920x1080 panel. If you're watching content that's 16:9 then you'll have black bars on the side, sure, but it'll just be like watching on a normal 16:9 panel really. You said yourself you're not that interested in 1440p, so I don't see any reason not to give ultrawide a shot. You can get an LG 25UM58-P for a decent price and run it at 75Hz.

Was looking at the LG 29UM68, but i think id prefer the 144Hz refresh, compared to the wide aspect ratio, consdiering i already have a second monitor to use and the ultrawide is a tad more expensive then the Acer GN246HLBbid (can get one brand new at work for 180)
However im gonna look at an ultrawide more though, get paid tonight to looking to buy something tomorrow
