A few hours ago I was in my room and I smelled smoke, at first I thought it was my sister and her friend cooking something. I went to go check and see what it was, I saw a lot of smoke, then I saw it. There was a small flame at first, we tried to put it out but it kept growing. I ran to my room, put on my socks and shoes and a sweatshirt. Then I tried finding my pets but they were all hiding, (I'm pretty sure they knew there was a fire and they were scared) the smoke got so bad I couldn't even breathe, we had to run downstairs and out the door. A car drove by and stopped, 4 people came out of the car trying to help. They tried to go upstairs but they couldn't. When the paramedics and firemen came we had to sit in an ambulance so they could run oxygen tests on all 3 of us. My mom was on her way to my stepdads house and when she got back we sat in her car to hear if the firemen found any of our cats. (I had 3 cats). 10 minutes later the firemen came with two of my cats. They were still looking for the 3rd. 5 minutes later someone came up to our car and said they found the 3rd one but he didn't make it. The firemen wouldn't let us see the damages until tomorrow and we can get whatever didn't burn. I'm currently staying at my stepdads house. For anyone who read all of this thank you. Edit: I will update the thread when I find out what caused the fire. Also, my other 2 kittens have been scared all day today, they barely eat, they have been hiding ever since we got to my stepdads house. I have no idea how to comfort them, we tried buying them toys, giving them treats. Nothing works. They even run away when I try to pet them.
