Should let him rot in solitary confinement for the rest of his life.

That would involve spending tax payer money to keep him alive in prison till he dies.

Death penalty cases - on average - cost more taxpayer dollars than life imprisonment cases.

I want to see some proof to that BS comment

Cases without the death penalty cost $740,000, while cases where the death penalty is sought cost $1.26 million. Maintaining each death row prisoner costs taxpayers $90,000 more per year than a prisoner in general population

This shouldn't be a problem for death penalty advocates though. All you have to say now is, "well just shoot them in the head and be done with it then."
There is actually a good way of making the case that it is better this way, but I'll let you figure that out for yourself.

Edit: I'm bored of waiting for him to reply so here it is:

If you are innocent and are sentenced to life imprisonment you are less likely to be exonerated than if you are sentenced to death.
If you are sentenced to death you are also much more likely to simply die of old age on death row than to be executed.
This means that, at the risk of being executed, you are getting more money spent on you to figure out if you are innocent, you get your own cell rather than sharing, and you are still likely to simply die of old age anyway.

When looked at this way the death penalty seems great.

Dusknoir wrote It depends how it's done. It's cheap with the electric chair, hanging, and firing squad. The only expensive execution is the lethal injection. Plus why should someone pay for a dude that kills church people to live comfy forever in prison with 3 meals a day, tv, and other commodities.

I know, I've said twice that the common or easy response to this information is that they should just shoot them in the head.

To answer the question though, people shouldn't have to pay for this specific dude but people should have to pay overall for all of the dudes who would otherwise end up on death row because the death penalty kills innocent people.
You people don't like that thought even though cars hit innocent bystanders every day and kill them yet none of you want to introduce a mandatory national speed limit - so I guess killing innocent people is fine with the majority so long as you don't really have to think about it.

He deserves to die by firing squad.
