Hey, I just turned 18 in August. But I don't get any money anymore, and I won't be getting anything for Christmas. I don't work as of yet as I'm a student. Is that weird and are you guys my age still getting stuff for xmas?

Everyone is different but that's extremely werid IMO. Both my brothers who are like 25+ and live in their own houses still get money and cards from our parents at their birthdays and presents at Christmas.

The whole point of Christmas is giving, irrelevant of your age you should still be given presents and it should be celebrated.

The whole point of Christmas is spending time with your family, it shouldn't matter about gifts. It's just how people make it sound. Idk just my opinion

Once you turn 18 you are an adult and wouldnt really receive anything other than lets say, money, clothes and other misc items

Thanks for the replies, I thought it was too. I'm not saying Im ungrateful to the guy saying 'Christmas is for family not gifts'- I understand. I'm just wondering because I find it weird. It's like being forced to grow up now I'm an adult.

it feels unusual not having much but you do appreciate the fact that you still got something atleast
