Hey I wanted to know if I could use a laptop HDD as a external hard drive for my xbox one.

what would I need ? I have a HDD already

Yes. You need to buy a case for it though.

You can. All you need to do is get a hdd enclosure. They have one at Best Buy for $30. Then you need to format the drive. Make sure the enclosure is USB 3.0 or else it won't work.

Yo I got a 2TB external hard drive I use for my Xbox One and it works perfectly, I'll drop a link to the exact one I purchased if you wanna check it out. Just make sure you get a 3.0 USD Hard drive and you'll be fine.
