I know the short answer is no, but the ram i currently have (Hyper X Fury 2133 MHz) has now been discontinued and i want to add more, but because its discontinued the prices from sellers has soared up. Could i buy another brand of ram perhaps and add to it?

Thanks

EDIT: i think i might be good, as long as the ram is 2133 mhz the same as the other stick, is this true ? or do i need to buy a whole new 16gb kit instead of 1 single 8gb stick

you can use mixed ram but its needs to be the same mhz as far as i know i had a prebuilt which broke in early this year and it had mix ram(due to major issues) besides that it worked fine but mixing ram is not recommenced just buy new ram if you really need more
