Well, I need to address a serious thing that's happened to me and my family today which has effected all of my and the rest of the household. Stuff like this makes me question the existence of human's. It really does.

So in the morning of every weekday my house ifs free from 8:20AM until around 3:30-4:00 As we all have places to be. Firstly, my mum gave up her job to become a full time carer for my nan, as she is severely disabled after a bad stroke . Meaning she has to leave at 6AM daily to make the 1hr 30 Minute journey on a tram and bus. Secondly, my dad leaves at 7AM to go to work till around 5:30/6. Then I follow, I leave at around 8AM and dont return until 3:30/4PM to go to college. Then lastly there's my younger sister who has school, who leaves at 8:30. Meaning she's last out 4/5 Days a week. She's 13 and as expected is not as intelligent as other's as she has learning difficulties.

So, this morning the usual regime went along. We all left and got to where we had to be. I was happily working away in college & my sister was busy at school. We thought nothing un-usual of today and it was just like any other day. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Later on around 1:15 My mum got a call (I've spoke to her and heard the story) from our elderly neighbor next door. She told my mum that our door was slightly open & asked her if me or my sister was in as all morning she had heard noises coming from our house. This is unusual unless me or my sister had a day off school or college. So to confirm this she just checked with my mum. When the neighbour asked this, my mum continued to ask what kind of noises. She replied that she could hear banging around and lots of 'racket', Immediately my mum knew something wasn't right and suspected me not to be in college. Around 1:30 I got a call (I was in college at the time) so I left the room and answered the call to my slightly angered mum, throwing accusations that I wasn't in college at me. I told her, I was in college and had left the room. I then ended the call and Facetimed here briefly. She then rung me and sounded very distressed.

She said to me that I needed to leave college straight away and go home, she didn't tell me why. Confused I explained to my tutor that I needed to leave, As I was leaving I was texting my mum. Which to then she explained to me that she thinks something may have happened and that she would be leaving my Nan early to come home too.
I anxiously sat on the bus home, dreading what may be waiting for me at home. I thought there could have been a fire of some-sort, or that we had been robbed. I didn't know what to think. After a 30/40 Minute bus journey I approached my house where I tried the door handle to find it open as I thought my dad may have got home.

I nervously opened the door handle, to find my living room as only what I can describe as a 'sh*t hole'. There was furniture moved, storage boxes tipped open, cupboards opened. My heart literally skipped a beat. I walked into the living room to see that the TV was gone. The Sky Box was even moved (the tv box). I was shocked, I didn't even want to check the rest of the house but I did.

Walking up the stairs was literally shocking. It made me feel as if we (my family) wasn't safe anymore. Like we had no protection whatsoever. I walked through to the first room closet to the stairs, which is the Bathroom. Items were moved and threw around, but nothing looked like it was missing. I proceeded to the next room. My mum and dads room. This was so hard to see our personal items threw about and invaded by total strangers. Yet again, there TV was gone. Along with some other items.

I checked the rest of the rooms to find the same state of destruction. Knowing my mum would be home soon I waited in our now destroyed living room, for her to arrive. The 20 or so minutes I waited have never felt longer or have ever been so painful. Imagine knowing your mother will be home to see what's happened to discover the true scale of it.

My mum finally arrives and walks through the door, instantly her face dropped. I could tell that she was hurt. She didn't bother to look round at the moment in time, she simply sat down & burst into tears. I didn't know what to do, seeing your own mother like that through the actions of someone else is not nice at all. It hurt me to see her this way, So I tried to comfort her and tell her its not that bad. We sat and talked for a little while, until she had the courage to see with her own eyes what had happened. So, we walked up stairs and she looked around the rooms, with practically an emotionless face, I knew this wasn't a good sign at all

After we had tried to tidy a little and sort things out we started to notice exactly what was missing from the house. Which was devastating for us both. They took monetary value items like TV's & Games consoles as well as items that had deep sentimental value to the whole family. They took my Nan's (My mum's mum) old jewelry which meant a lot to her. Due to the conditions of my nan. This hurt me to, how people can do this to one another.

With it being so close to Christmas it effected us a little worse, I mean were not exactly 'poor' or 'rich'. We have always had to work for what we wanted in life, always had to save and never just been handed something. To have things that we worked hard for took away in the space of a day really does bother you, especially knowing that we will never get our items back!! Most people think the worst part of being robbed is the items. Well I can tell you now, this is no-where near the worst. Just the thought of people intruding into our family home is disturbing and makes me feel in a sense, unsafe. Feeling un-safe in your own home is never a good thing.

So, I guess things will be different for us now. I may not be as active on here as Im having to use a mobile. Unless, I can find my old Netbook somewhere in the loft (attic). I did have plans to buy an RGH, but there gonna be set back a while, my fund went from 100-0 real quick (Drake reference). I suppose Christmas this year may not be the best either, but at least nobody was harmed. That's the main thing I guess. Which I'm so grateful of!!

If anyone wondering what was took here's the main stuff:
4 TV's
Family jewelry
xbox console
Laptop
Pc
Cash
Christmas savings
My sisters money
my money
older mobile phones (kept for spares)

This really does make me wonder about other people. However, me and my family all have our lives and health which is better than monetary good I guess!!

It seems like what you need is an alarm system! You also might want to look into getting some other sort of home defense like a firearm(depending where you live, country, state etc)

Sorry this happened to you bud, hope you guys work out okay.

That's really awful. Scary that someone would break into your house in plain daytime when you could come home at anytime. Do you also have any kind of insurance to cover the loss of the items?

I know how you feel someone broke into my house and stole a ridiculous amount of stuff. They took anything they could carry easily such as laptops and jewlery but weirdly i had about £1000 in a cupboard and they missed it even though it was in an obvious spot. Anyway i hope they catch who ever did it and i'd highly suggest investing in CCTV, after the break in we have them all around the house although it seems pointless at the time because the damage is done it might come in handy in the future.
