So I found an older computer I had in storage. Its a emachine (piece of junk) it is running windows vista 32 bit. I have a ethernet cable plugged up. I know my connection and everything is good. It shows the computer has internet connection but when I click on the web browser it just gives me the diagnostic. Please help!!!

Are you trying to use IE?

You could also try this and see if it fixes your issue;
Run Command Prompt as Administrator --> Type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" (without the quotation marks) --> Press enter, and then reboot your computer.

What happens if you try and ping "8.8.8.8" and ping google.com? Do you get responses?

What IP do you get with IPconfig?

If you run a tracert where does it go and stop?

Heh. Windows vista. Try ping like the others said. If that gives no results then there is no actual connection.

Thanks for all the help guys. I actually tried all the above and they didn't work. So I decided to factory reset it one more time and it worked after that.

A ping, ipconfig or tracert where never going to fix it. They where going to give information to diagnose the problem...

Next time you have this issue make sure your date and time are correct because mine weren't on my old computer and it was not letting me on the internet
