Stuck in an internal debate and trying to figure out which one to go with.
Obviously this might be a little skewed, still any answer helps
(Background information to help with decision process)

- Xbox One S w/ the games I want and accessories = $517
Camera w/ everything I would like = $500
College Student (if you're gonna say something about how I should save my money, save it, I have allocated the money for this)
Never done photography, always been interested, never actually pursued
Don't have an Xbox One at all so that isn't a factor
I'm not going to go all out playing the Xbox, it would be something I would do in my freetime when I am not hanging with friends or studying/in class.
Sooooooo, which one would you choose?

I would choose the Xbox , camera would get old to me

I would go with Xbox, you get more uses out of it!

Camera most definitely, ever since I started playing video games I said I wouldnt be on them alot and here I am everyday.

Cameras get boring trust me the first few days you have a blast thinking you're Peter Parker,
Xbox One is the way forward, you won't get bored of that because there's different things you can do and different ways of doing them in-game sense

I'd absolutely choose the camera over the console. You can get a Nikon D3300 or Canon EOS T5 bundle for less than $550. I love my D3300.
If you were going to go the gaming route, I'd suggest spending the money on a nice PC instead.

Personally I would go with the camera.
- Camera: Unlimited uses & Can actually do something productive
- Xbox: Sit bashing a few buttons for hours on end and become morbidly obese within a year...
Just my view, For me a camera would bring so much more fun than an Xbox
