Recently started playing again and want to know the best ways to get my light level up. I'm currently 310 but want to try to get higher than this before Rise of Iron.

Do the raid on challenge mode, crucible, strikes, etc.

I seen a YouTube vid on this and he said when you go to the cryptarch to encrypt your engrams just keep on checking your stuff after encrypting each one and equip it then encrypt another and go with the highest again and keep on doing that and it will make your light higher than it was if you didn't do that.

That's what I've been doing, although I got bored of the game and stopped playing it.

If your buying rise of iron don't worry about your level there's gonna be a booster to get anyone who's behind up to light level
