Having got a tattoo but i think my first will be on my left arm somewhere

I've got a stag on my inner forearm. I must have a low pain threshold compared to most people [or very tame cats] because it felt like someone was dragging a serrated blade across my arm.
The outline hurts the most and the shading is like a massage in comparison.

Then again I've heard that the inner arm is quite a painful place to have a tattoo because of the amount of nerves and veins running very close to the surface of the skin.
