I want to learn to play the guitar and i've heard little about this. The reviews were good. So is this software just a gimick or is it legitimate? If you've used this tell me your story. Thanks all.

I've briefly played it myself, given that I have played guitar for about 9 years now, it is fun, but i find it too confusing personally. maybe that's just me, but again, i am not everyone.
it's not a "gimic" per say, it does do it's job as i've had some friends tell me that it really helped them.
So short answer to your question,
it's a sort of game, but in fact definitely legitimate and you should definitely at least try it out, see if it is indeed for you
