Am I the only one that takes over a gym puts a nice Pokemon on it and then some nub puts his CP 40 Rattata on it, so it takes up a precious slot for someone else to place a decent Pokemon on it.

I like taking down high level gyms like those you speak of just so I can place a level 10 magikarp

Most people do this because they want to collect on the daily gym bonus and don't want to put in their high level Pokemon as that could be used for another gym if nearby so they can have multiple gyms to collect from. That or they're just trying to get front page on Reddit due to a low level Pokemon, some random name that correlates to the Pokemon or the name/picture of the gym.

People do this because its a way to easy farm "team prestige points" & level up the gym quick.
