Hey guys, so I've decided to get a new monitor. I was gonna upgrade my cpu but I think its time for a step up from 1080p. I've been looking at 1440p, 4k, gsync, freesync, and I have no idea what to pick. So help me decide!

Specs

980 ti
i5 6500
12 gb ram
27 inch 1080p asus monitor

$500 budget

Theres too many monitors to choose from haha

Freesync is useless with an NVidia GPU. I personally wouldn't bother paying the premium for G-Sync, and you're not going to get a G-Sync monitor within budget, not a good one anyway. I'll give you a couple options.

They should all be VESA compatible, 100mmx100m I think. Not positive about the ultrawide, but I think it's VESA compatible. With a 4k monitor, you can run it at 1080p or 1440p resolution in games if you'd prefer higher FPS or settings, instead of having to run at 4k. I'd go with one of the 4k monitors, or the ultrawide probably.
